Equipment scales to the wave
A wave of ten teams needs ten stations worth, not a hundred. That is what makes this format reachable for a normal gym.
Hybrid racing
The question everybody asks first. Here are the numbers, without optimistic rounding.
A hybrid race budget splits into three blocks, the equipment you already own, what you need to rent or buy, and the costs of the day itself. The good news is that a gym equipped for functional fitness already owns most of it. The line most often forgotten is not equipment, it is timing, without which the race loses its credibility.

Rowers, ski ergs, bags, wall balls, kettlebells. An equipped box usually covers six stations out of eight with nothing rented.
The sled and its pulling surface is the most common gap, sometimes with an extra ski erg to absorb the wave.
The weekend pack includes the sensor, forty transponders and Throwdown ticketing. Beyond the forty included, count 3 € per transponder.
No subscription and no card to start. 3 % plus 1.50 € per entry sold, paid by the athlete.
An equipped gym renting the timing and completing two stations lands around one thousand to fifteen hundred euros. With sixty pairs at eighty euros, the day is covered many times over.
Not for a first one. Borrow from a neighbouring gym or adapt the movement. The format is yours, nothing forces you to copy an official list.
Count the teams on course at the same time. Eight overlapping waves of ten teams is around eighty transponders. The simulator works it out.
Plan for course signage, a water point, a photographer if you want to fill the next edition, and one day event insurance.
The timing simulator gives the exact figure from your waves.
