The room watches the same screen you do
One URL per screen, opened fullscreen on any TV, and the leaderboard updates live in front of everyone.
What the crowd sees on the walls does a lot for the feel of a competition. A leaderboard that moves, a clock readable from the back of the room, a call room announcing the next wave. Each screen is a web page opened fullscreen on the computer wired to the TV or the projector, so there is nothing to install and nothing to rent.

The mode and the floor sit in the address, so two screens in the same room show two different things.
The start in full frame
Official clock, a countdown that takes the whole screen, then the start called out large with sound.
The finish wall
The latest finishers with their flag, their rank and their time, each new line sliding in at the top.
Nothing runs off the frame
A list too long to fit pages through itself instead of overflowing, so the bottom of the screen stays readable.
Your color, with a guard rail
The accent color is yours to change, and one too dark to stay readable on black is refused.
