Hybrid races

The platform to run your hybrid races

Net-time chip timing, automated wave starts and a ranking that updates live. From registration to the finish line, everything runs on one platform.

Built for your discipline

You manage it all from one platform: registrations, divisions, wave starts generated automatically from the estimated times entered at registration, chip check-in and net-time ranking. You focus on the floor, we take care of the rest.

Hyrox is a registered trademark of Upsolut Sports AG. ATHX and adidas are trademarks of their respective owners. Throwdown is not affiliated with any of these organisations.

What Throwdown changes on race day

Chip timing built in

Velcro transponders on your athletes and a high-precision sensor. Net time flows automatically into the ranking. The pack is optional and rents by the weekend from 900 € with Throwdown ticketing (1,600 € standalone), for a premium race experience.

Automated wave starts

We generate the wave schedule automatically from the estimated times each athlete enters at registration. Launch your starts at the interval of your choice and adjust the division running order via drag and drop.

Net time and live ranking

The gap to the leader shows in +MM:SS. As athletes cross the sensor, the ranking updates live in their app, with no manual entry or publishing to manage.

Up to 3 broadcast screens

Show up to three screens at once: the start line with its countdown and full-screen GO, athletes finishing live with their flags, and a finisher photo screen (one click on a time sends it full screen). Enough to give your race the feel of a real official race.

Chip check-in

At check-in, you assign a chip to each present team in one move, straight from the planning. The chip is reused across waves, and only those present feed the ranking.

Clear ticketing and fees

3% + 1.50 € per registration, with no subscription. Built-in Stripe payment (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact), promo codes, automatic early bird, an optional refundable spot and registration in two minutes from a phone.

Three revenue streams

One ticketing system, three revenues. Registrations, your merch shop (t-shirts and goodies, sizes and stock, pickup or shipping) and your spectator tickets all run through the same Stripe checkout.

From registration to the finish line, in 4 steps

  1. Create your race

Name, dates, location, divisions and price. Your public page is online in a few minutes, with no code.

  2. Open registration

Each athlete enters their estimated time at registration, which feeds your wave seeding directly. Online payment, automatic waitlist.

  3. Assign chips at check-in

On arrival, you mark the present teams and assign their chip from the planning. Waves generate themselves from the estimated times.

  4. Launch the starts

The start line paces your waves, the sensor reads the net times, and the ranking lands live on the screens and in the athletes' app.

On quote

Go for the premium experience

On top of the timing pack, options to give your finish line the feel of a major race. Available on quote.

Finish arch with screen

A finish-line arch with a built-in screen to show times and finishers live.

Light and smoke effects

A smoke machine and lighting to mark every crossing of the line.

Cold sparks

Cold sparks at the finish for a spectacular final, with no heat and no risk.

Races already running on Throwdown

Organizers time their hybrid race on net time and broadcast their finishes live with Throwdown.

No, it is optional. The pack rents by the weekend from 900 € with Throwdown ticketing (1,600 € standalone) and includes the velcro transponders plus a high-precision sensor. Net time flows automatically into the ranking.

You launch your waves at the interval of your choice. Wave generation is automatic and uses the estimated times athletes enter at registration. You set the division running order via drag and drop, and you assign the sensor to each slot. Net time is calculated from the athlete's wave start time.

Yes. Throwdown is built for the hybrid-race format popularized by Hyrox: a string of runs and stations on the floor, wave starts, and ranking by net time. It is the ideal setup to run your own hybrid race in the spirit of Hyrox, with your own standards and your own divisions. The timing measures total net time at the finish line, not station-by-station splits. The same applies to a competition in the spirit of more recent hybrid formats such as ATHX: you build your event with your own standards, and Throwdown handles registration, timing and ranking.

All the ones you need: solo, duo, team, mixed, by gender, by age, masters, levels, and sub-divisions. Each division gets its spot quota and switches to an automatic waitlist as soon as it is full.

At check-in, you mark athletes as present on arrival and assign them their chips. Only those present feed the planning and the ranking. The Cast screen broadcasts the scoreboard and the finishes, and athletes follow their wave and their results from the iOS and Android apps or on the web.
