Add my rules and terms
Updated on 30 October 2026
Two documents belong to you alone, the rules of your competition and your terms and conditions of sale. You add them in a few minutes, and the athlete accepts them at payment, with a link to each. Everything is set in the Documents card, at the top of your registration settings.
The Documents card
At the top of Athlete registrations, the Athlete documents card gathers everything the athlete accepts when registering. At the top of Staff registrations, the Staff documents card does the same for volunteers. Each line shows its status, Added as text, Added as PDF or Not set, with an Add or Edit button.
Rules and terms, two separate documents
- The Rules cover the sport. Divisions, movement standards, equipment, penalties and times.
- The Organizer terms and conditions cover money and your commitments. Refunds, cancellation, spot transfer and image rights.
Both are optional. For each one, choose Text to write it in the editor, or PDF to upload a file of up to 10 MB. The document is saved as soon as you click Done, and Remove deletes it. In the editor, the Accordion button sets out a question and its answer, useful to build a FAQ.
What the athlete accepts at payment
The acceptance box only mentions the documents you have filled in, each with its link. Without any document, the athlete accepts the Throwdown terms of use and privacy policy. With your rules, your terms or both, the sentence adds the organizer's rules and terms and conditions. A PDF opens as is, a text shows on its own page. The Organizer rules and Organizer terms links also appear on the competition page.
The card's Preview button opens What registrants accept. It is the exact block shown at payment, to see what the athlete reads before paying.
The fitness waiver, included automatically
The Fitness waiver line shows Included automatically, and its text cannot be edited. At payment, under the acceptance box, the registrant ticks a second required box. They certify that they are fit for the event with no medical contraindication, or, for a team, that every athlete on the registration is. A line reminds them that your insurance does not cover injuries you are not responsible for and recommends personal accident insurance.
The box is signed with the registrant's name and recorded on each athlete. You find it on their record, with the date. You have no paper waiver to get signed on the day.
The parental authorization, asked from minors
The Parental authorization line shows Asked automatically from minors. An athlete who is still a minor on the first day of the competition uploads a signed authorization, right under the details of their legal representative. The form offers a template already filled in with the names entered, and another signed document works too, as a PDF or a photo. Registration cannot be completed without it.
You accept or refuse the document from the athlete's record. An athlete whose document is refused sends a new one from their registration. The card also offers the blank template with Download a template to sign. A registration you create yourself by hand does not ask for it.
For staff
Volunteers accept the rules and terms of the Staff documents card when they register, if you have filled them in, with no fitness waiver. The terms that bind you to the platform are in the organiser terms and conditions.
