The Throwdown story

The Throwdown story

Throwdown isn't just another generic tool. It's a solution built by a top-tier developer and an athlete, guided day to day by established organizers, for functional fitness and hybrid race competitions.

Why we built Throwdown

Behind Throwdown, two founders: Léo and Mikkel. One is a French WorldSkills champion in web development, the other is a functional fitness athlete. Around them, a circle of established organizers follows every step of the build and surfaces the needs of the floor.

The starting point: the platforms in this space are around ten years old. They work, but as they kept growing they became heavy and hard to navigate, even when they do the job. Finding a competition near you stays a chore, fees weigh on organizers, and the market has seen recent data leaks. And none of them had chip timing built in. We wanted the opposite: simple, affordable, secure, and built for functional fitness and hybrid races.

What we built

A modern platform that covers everything an organizer needs: registrations and ticketing, heat planning, automatic ranking, a broadcast screen for the big display, and official chip timing delivered on Friday evening. All of it on web, iOS and Android.

Everything is built by hand, line by line, over close to two years. No AI-generated code, no shortcuts: we want your competition to hold up on the day. Registrations take the spikes, the ranking computes without errors, and chip times come through on their own. Reliability is what we put above everything.

  1. 2024

    The idea

Léo and Mikkel start the project: the tools on the market work, but they have become too complex and too expensive. Time for something simple, built for the discipline.

  2. 2025

    First launch

Opening to the first pilot boxes. Registrations, scoring and automatic ranking live on real throwdowns.

  3. 2026

    Liège Throwdown

One of Belgium's biggest functional fitness competitions celebrates its 10th edition, powered by Throwdown.

We have come a long way since the first lines of code.

Who we build it with

Throwdown is a French company. Our support speaks your language, and our prices are shown with no hidden negotiation: 3% + 1.50 € per registration on the Pro plan, 500 € excl. VAT per weekend for the timing pack. You know what you pay before you even publish.

We build with the organizers who follow us: their requests become features. Throwdown moves at the pace of the floor, not some disconnected roadmap.
