A competition fills up online. Before the day even arrives, your athletes need to be able to pick their division, pay in two clicks and get their confirmation. That is the whole point of ticketing: a clear registration flow, safe payments, and money that lands in your account with no middleman. Here is how Throwdown handles registration for your functional fitness competition or your hybrid race, from opening sales to welcoming people at the desk.
The money goes straight to your account
Throwdown does not sit between you and your athletes. Each organizer connects their own account through Stripe Connect. When an athlete pays, the money lands directly in your Stripe account, not in a Throwdown account you would have to chase to get paid. You keep control of your cash flow, you track your payouts in your Stripe dashboard, and you wait on no one. Publishing your competition is in fact gated on connecting that account: until Stripe is linked, sales do not open.
Net price, explained line by line
For each division, you set the price the athlete pays. The moment you enter it, Throwdown shows the live payout breakdown: what the athlete pays, the Throwdown service fee, the estimated Stripe fees and the net that comes back to you. No surprises, no maths on your side. On the Pro plan, the Throwdown fee is 3% + 1.50 € per registration. The Essentiel and Caritatif plans are 0% + 0 € per registration.
| Example on a 60 € registration | Amount |
|---|---|
| Price paid by the athlete | 60.00 € |
| Throwdown service fee (Pro plan, 3% + 1.50 €) | 3.30 € |
| Stripe fees (estimated) | variable |
| Net paid to your account | the rest, straight to you |
On the athlete side, the only monetary line shown at checkout is the Throwdown service fee, with a recap of Ticket, Discount, Service fee and Total incl. VAT. Everything is transparent, on both sides of the flow.
Team registration in a single payment
Your divisions can be solo, duo, team or mixed. For a team registration, one person handles everything: they pick the division, then fill in one form per member (gender is pre-derived from the division format), choose each one's goodies and sizes, enter the team name and the club or box, then pay for the whole thing in one go. No need for each teammate to pay their share separately: one cart, one payment, one confirmation.
Goodies, sizes and promo codes
Offering a t-shirt, a tote bag or another goodie? Add it to the division with its sizes: the athlete picks theirs during registration, and you get the full breakdown in your export. For promotions, you create promo codes as a percentage or a fixed amount, with a validity window and a maximum number of uses. Codes are stackable at checkout: an athlete can combine several, and the breakdown recalculates live.
Seats, sold out and automatic waiting list
Each division has a seat quota. Throwdown shows remaining seats in real time, and flips the division to Sold out as soon as the quota is reached. At that point, the registration button gives way to a waiting list: the athlete leaves their email and phone number, and you get the list of waiting prospects in your space. If a seat frees up, you know exactly who to notify. You lose no request, even when it is full.
Every payment method
Payment happens without leaving the page of your competition, through the embedded Stripe checkout. Your athletes pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Bancontact (for Belgian cards). Less friction at the moment of paying means more registrations that go all the way. And if a registration is 0 € (invitation, 100% promo code), the payment is simply bypassed.
Manual registration at the desk
On the day, someone shows up without an account? You create their registration manually from your space. You enter the delegate's email, Throwdown checks live whether it already exists, and if not creates their account automatically and sends them their access. You then fill in the details of each athlete on the team. It is the bridge between your online registrations and the physical desk: everything ends up in the same registrants table, with the bib number.
